1. Introduction and Acceptance

Welcome to Checkta ("application", "we", "our"). These Terms of Service outline the rules and regulations governing your use of our application. By using our application, you agree to be bound by these terms.

2. User Eligibility

Our application may only be used by individuals who are at least 18 years old. If the legal age of majority in your country or jurisdiction is higher, you must meet that higher age requirement. If you do not meet these requirements, you may not use the application.

3. User Responsibilities

By using our application, you agree that:

• You will not use the application for any unlawful, harassing, or unauthorized purposes.
• You will not harass, abuse, or harm other users.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your account credentials (such as your password).

4. Content and Purchases

You are solely responsible for the content (text, images, etc.) that you submit, upload, or share through the application. You may not post content that is illegal, defamatory, or infringes upon the intellectual property rights of others.

In-app purchases (for example, "token" packages) are final and non-refundable. Tokens represent a service fee for using translation and artificial intelligence features. Any refund request may only be processed at the sole discretion of Google Play or the Apple App Store in accordance with their respective policies. In the event of an approved refund, the tokens corresponding to the refunded amount will be deducted from your account.

Trial Balance: The Trial Balance granted upon new account registration and email verification is a promotional usage credit provided for testing application features; it has no cash value and is non-transferable to any other account or person. The Trial Balance is valid for 30 days from account creation; any unused Trial Balance automatically expires and is reset to zero at the end of this period. When using features, unexpired Trial Balance is consumed first, followed by purchased balance.

Token Usage Records and Dispute Process: To ensure accurate balance accounting and investigate potential billing or usage disputes, each token movement records the date and time of the transaction, action type (translation, punctuation correction, live call, image/avatar generation, Trial Balance grant, email verification trial credit, trial expiration deduction, or purchase), AI provider and model name used, input/output token counts, tokens deducted or added, previous/new balance, and transaction reference ID. The text you translate, your chat messages, audio, and image content are never stored in this usage ledger. Token usage records and payment verification records are retained for 10 years for legal obligations and the defense of legal claims (and, if you delete your account, continue to be kept without personal identifiers, pseudonymized under restricted access) and are automatically deleted when the retention period expires. You may request a statement of your token usage history or submit a balance inquiry or dispute by contacting [email protected]. Each submitted inquiry or dispute is assigned a unique tracking number (in the format CASE-YYYY-NNNN) and is reviewed against the usage ledger and payment provider records (orderId). Any token adjustment is applied only upon request and after completion of the review.

5. Intellectual Property

The application itself, including its original content, features, and functionality, is owned by Checkta and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

6. Termination and Account Deletion

We reserve the right to immediately terminate or suspend your account, without prior notice or liability, if you breach these Terms of Service.

User-Initiated Account Deletion: When you request to delete your account from the application settings, your account is suspended for 30 days; during this period, you may sign in again to cancel the deletion and restore your account along with your existing balance. Once the 30-day grace period expires (on day 31), your authentication record, profile data, associated media files, and all remaining tokens in your account (including both Trial Balance and purchased balance) are permanently deleted. Posts and comments you shared in the community section are retained, but author attribution is anonymized as "Deleted Member". Token usage ledger records and payment verification records continue to be retained without personal identifiers (with your user ID cryptographically pseudonymized via one-way hash) for 10 years for legal obligations and the defense of legal claims, and are automatically deleted when the retention period expires.

7. Changes

We reserve the right to update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes become effective as soon as they are published on this page.
